Huskies extend win streak to five

With wins over the StFX X-Men and the Dalhousie Tigers, the Saint Mary's Huskies have extended their winning streak to five, to sit second in the AUS men's hockey standings.

The Huskies hosted the X-Men on Wednesday evening, playing to a 4-3 overtime victory. In overtime, the Huskies scored with only 21 seconds left as Nicholas Welsh sent a shot on net and the rebound sat in the crease for Dawson Theede to put in for the game winner. The Huskies then hosted the Tigers on Friday, where they shut out Dalhousie 4-0.

The UNB Reds bounced back from their first regulation loss last week, as they earned a weekend sweep with a huge 10-0 victory over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus on Wednesday, then topped the UPEI Panthers 9-4 on Friday evening.

Despite falling to the Reds on Wednesday, the Aigles Bleus earned two victories over the week as they topped the Acadia Axemen 4-2 on Monday night, and then earned a 4-3 overtime victory over the Panthers on Saturday.

The Axemen bounced back from their loss the Moncton, earning two straight victories on Friday and Saturday. Acadia blanked StFX 5-0 on Friday, then skated to a 6-4 win over the Tigers on Saturday night.

With just three weeks remaining in the regular season, UNB, Saint Mary's, Universite de Moncton, StFX, and UPEI have all secured playoff berths.
