Saint Mary’s defeats Memorial 70-44

(ST. JOHN'S, N.L.) - For the second straight day, the Saint Mary's Huskies used a hot start to propel them to victory as they defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks 70-44 in AUS women's basketball on Sunday.

The Huskies extended their early lead to 13 by the end of the first quarter.

Justine Colley led the Huskies with 18 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds in the win. She was named Subway Player of the Game. Laura Langille added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Huskies.

Chante Clarke, a rookie guard from Toronto, led the Sea-Hawks with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. She was named player of the game for her effort. Sandra Amoah added 7 points and 11 rebounds.

Memorial will head to Cape Breton next weekend for a pair of games against the Capers in Sydney on November 16 and 17.
