(ST. JOHN'S, NFLD.) - Mitsutoshi Matsuda's first period goal led the visiting Mount Allison Mounties to a 1-0 victory over the Memorial Sea-Hawks in AUS men's soccer on Saturday afternoon at King George V Park.

With only 6:23 on the clock, rookie forward Matsuda (Shizuoka, Japan) netted the only goal of the game.

In the second half as the wind and rain picked up, so did the game's aggressiveness. The game saw a yellow card for the visitors, and four for the home team. With just less than 20 minutes in the game, the Sea-Hawks received two red cards as Taedy O'Rourke (St. John's, Nfld.) and Carter Mackey (St. John's, Nfld.) left the pitch.

Despite being down two men, Memorial's defence prevented the Mounties from taking advantage. With just minutes left to go, the home team took another hit and Austin Blades (Lower Sackville, N.S.) received a red card, leaving only eight men for the Sea-Hawks.

The final score was 1-0 for the visiting Mount Allison Mounties.

The Subway player of the game was Matsuda for the winners. Greg Reid (St. John's, Nfld.) took player of the game honours for Memorial.
