Friday, November 27

Saint Mary's at UNB (Box Score)

The Saint Mary's Huskies travelled to Fredericton on Friday to face the UNB Varsity Reds. The Varsity Reds held the lead after the first quarter, outscoring the Huskies 28-19, while Saint Mary's came back in the second quarter to outscore UNB 24-17, to cut the Varsity Reds lead to 45-43 at the half. The Varsity Reds outscored the Huskies 28-25 in the third quarter, to hold a 73-68 lead heading into the final quarter. The Huskies took the lead in the fourth, but a corner three from UNB's Jesse Kendall with 19 seconds left on the clock tied the game at 87-87, to send it to overtime. The Varsity Reds outscored the Huskies 15-10 in the extra frame to earn the 102-97 victory. Javon Masters lead the Varsity Reds with 28 points and became the new Atlantic University Sport career leader in free throws made. Osman Barrie led the Huskies with a game-high 36 points and 10 rebounds.

Saturday, November 28

Memorial at Cape Breton (Box Score)

The Memorial Sea-Hawks travelled to Sydney on Saturday to face the Cape Breton Capers. The first quarter saw close play from both squads, as Cape Breton held a 18-17 lead heading into the second quarter. The Sea-Hawks outscored the Capers 17-12 in the second, allowing them to hold a 34-30 edge at the half. The Capers came out strong in the third quarter, outscoring the Sea-Hawks 36-12, to soar past Memorial and hold a 66-48 lead heading into the final quarter. Despite outscoring Cape Breton 24-19 in the fourth, Memorial would be unable to come back as the Capers earned the 85-70 victory. Cape Breton freshman Jack MacAulay led the Capers with a career-high 24 points, while Caleb Gould led the Sea-Hawks in points with 18.

Dalhousie 74 at StFX 57 (Box Score)

The StFX X-Men hosted the Dalhousie Tigers in Antigonish on Saturday evening. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead to outscore the X-Men 17-12 in the first quarter, and held their lead after the second to outscore the X-Men 21-18, holding a 38-30 advantage at the half. The Tigers extended their lead in the second half, outscoring the X-Men 18-14 in the third quarter, and 18-13 in the fourth to hold on to a 74-57 victory. Jarred Reid led the Tigers in points with a game-high 20, while Kevin Bercy led the X-Men with 16, adding 10 rebounds and three steals.

UPEI 87 at Acadia 96 (Box Score)

The UPEI Panthers travelled to Wolfville this weekend to face the Acadia Axemen. The Axemen held a 19-15 lead over the Panthers after the first quarter. A even 24 points from both squads in the second quarter allowed the Axemen to hold a four point lead at the half, leading the Panthers 43-39. In the third quarter, the Panthers outscored the Axemen 29-23 to take a 68-68 lead heading into the final quarter. In the fourth, Acadia's Nick De Palma tied the game at 75 with 7:15 remaining in the game. Four free throws from De Palma in the last 30 seconds of regulation secured the Axemen with a 96-87 victory. UPEI's Tyler Scott led the Panthers with a game-high 31 points, adding nine rebounds, two assists and one steal, while Kyle Arseneault led the Axemen with 25 points, adding three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

The UNB Varsity Reds hosted the Saint Mary's Huskies on Saturday night for their second meeting of the weekend. The Huskies held the lead after the first quarter, outscoring the Varsity Reds 28-17, but the Varsity Reds came out strong in the second, outscoring the Huskies 24-15 to cut Saint Mary's lead to 43-41 at the half. Saint Mary's held the lead after the third quarter after outscoring UNB 22-19, to lead 65-60 heading into the final quarter. Despite a very back and forth fourth quarter, the Huskies held on to outscore the Varsity Reds 21-20, earning the 86-80 victory. Javon Masters led the Varsity Reds with a game-high 31 points, adding four rebounds, three assists, and three steals, while Kemar Alleyne led the Huskies with 20 points, adding 10 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Sunday, November 29

Memorial 65 at Cape Breton 85 (Box Score)

In their second meeting of the weekend, the Cape Breton Capers topped the Memorial Sea-Hawks 85-65. The Sea-Hawks struggled to get on the board in the first quarter, allowing the Capers to capitalize and outscore Memorial 24-5 in the frame. The Sea-Hawks picked up the pace in the second quarter, outscoring the Capers 22-18, however the Capers held a 42-27 lead at the half. The Capers continued their lead throughout the second half, outscoring the Sea-Hawks 22-18, entering the final quarter with a 64-45 edge. The Sea-Hawks struggled to comeback from the defecit as they were outscored by the Capers 21-20 in the fourth, to fall 85-65. Davion Parnsalu led the Sea-Hawks with 21 points, adding three rebounds, three assists, and four steals, while Cedric Kasango, Kenny Jean-Louis, and Meshack Lufile all led the Capers with 12 points each , with Kasango adding a game-high 11 assists and 11 rebounds.

UPEI 107 at Acadia 110 (Box Score)

On Sunday afternoon, the Acadia Axemen hosted the UPEI Panthers for their second meeting of the weekend. The Axemen held a 36-31 lead after the first quarter, but were outscored by the Panthers 23-17 in the second to trail UPEI 54-53 at halftime. The Axemen regained their lead in the third quarter as they outscored the Panthers 27-21, giving them a 80-75 edge heading into the fourth. The Axemen maintained their lead throughout the fourth, holding to earn the 110-107 victory over the Panthers. Tyler Scott led the Panthers with a game-high 38 points, adding eight rebounds, one assist, and four steals. Ben Miller and Kyle Arseneault led the Axemen with 20 points a piece, while Miller added 10 rebounds and five assists, and Arseneault added four rebounds.
