Huskies defeat Sea-Hawks 81-67 in season opener

(ST. JOHN'S, N.L.) The Saint Mary's Huskies pulled away in the third quarter to defeat the Memorial Sea-Hawks 81-67 in front of a packed house at the Field House in AUS men's basketball on Saturday. The game was tied at the half 34-34 before Saint Mary's outscored Memorial 28-13 in the third quarter.

Terrence Taylor led the Huskies with 20 points and six rebounds in the win. Marquis Clayton chipped in with 12 points and eight assists.

Memorial's Alpha Kisusi had a team-high 18 points on a tidy 7-11 from the floor in the loss. Noel Moffatt added 13 points and five rebounds.

Riley Halpin was named Subway Player of the Game for Saint Mary's while Kisusi earned the honour for Memorial.
