(SAINT JOHN, N.B.) The Dalhousie Tigers lead both the women's and men's team standings after the first day of competition at the 2025 Bell AUS Track and Field Championships.
The event is being held at the Irving Oil Field House in Saint John, N.B.
Track events
It was a record-setting day in the relay races.
The UNB REDS electrified the home crowd in the men's 4x800-metre relay, racing past Dalhousie and STFX to claim gold and set a new AUS record.
The STFX X-Women stormed to victory in the women's 4x800-metre relay, outpacing UNB and Dalhousie to rewrite the AUS record books.
Saint Mary's turned heads in the men's 4x200-metre relay, as their squad blazed past Dalhousie and UNB to establish yet another AUS record.
UNB claimed gold in the women's 4x200-metre relay, finishing ahead of Memorial and Dalhousie.
Dalhousie's Abbi Gaudrey proved unstoppable, clinching gold in the women's 60-metre hurdles, edging out Moncton's Caroline Gagnon and UNB's Allison Dewar.
Gaudrey doubled down on her dominance with a win in the women's pentathlon, amassing 3,413 points.
On the men's side, Moncton's Max Mazerolle delivered a masterclass in the 60-metre hurdles, leading a 1-2 Moncton finish alongside teammate Ghislain Girouard.
Dalhousie's Cara MacDonald set a new AUS record in the women's 1,000 metres en route to gold, while STFX's Eileen Benoit won the women's 3,000 metres.
STFX's Brett King took gold in the men's 3,000 metres, while Aidan Goslett won the men's 1,000 metres.
Saint Mary's Andy MacMullin won the men's 300 metres, while UPEI's Helen Rose Ikpotokin claimed gold in the women's 300 metres.
Moncton's Dante Cormier won gold in the men's 300-metre wheelchair event.
Field events
UNB delighted the home fans in the women's triple jump, as Lexie Shannon soared to gold with a leap of 11.61 metres, leading a 1-2 finish with teammate Haley Angus securing silver.
Saint Mary's Dante Isadore claimed gold in the men's long jump, finishing ahead of Dalhousie's Nick Beaulie and Cape Breton's Davie Solanke.
UPEI's Alaere Peterside cleared 1.71 metres to take gold in the women's high jump, while Moncton's Max Mazerolle continued his stellar meet, capturing gold in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 3.92 metres.
In the throws, Saint Mary's Mason Dunlop won gold in the men's shot put with a throw of 15.95 metres, while Dalhousie's Chelsea MacIsaac took gold in the women's event with a throw of 13.77 metres.
The AUS track and field championships conclude Saturday, with competition beginning at 9 a.m.
