Bailey leads Sea-Hawks to 2-0 victory

(ST. JOHN'S, NFLD.) - It was a pair of goals from the Sea-Hawks' Emily Bailey that swept the Aigles Bleues for the second day in a row in AUS women's soccer action on Sunday at King George V Park.

The first half was scoreless between the women despite four shots on goal by the Sea-Hawks and two by the Aigles Bleues.

Both of Bailey's goals, her fourth and fifth of the season, were unassisted and two minutes apart in the 64th and 66th minutes. Despite three more attempts, the Sea-Hawks could not get another shot passed keeper Monica Gallant of Moncton.

Subway AUS player of the game was Emily Bailey for the Sea-Hawks. Keeper Monica Gallant took player of the game honours for Moncton for the second day in a row.

Memorial's record moves to 4-3-0 with the win, ranking them fourth in the conference. Moncton fell to 0-6-1 tying them for last place.

The Sea-Hawks will head to Nova Scotia for a game each against Cape Breton (4-1-1) on Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. and StFX (2-2-2) on Oct. 5 at noon.

Moncton next takes to the field Oct. 3 when they host the UNB Varsity Reds at 5 p.m.
