(ST. JOHN's, N.L.) - The Memorial Sea-Hawks improved to 2-0 on the AUS women's soccer season after a 2-0 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies on Sunday.

After a scoreless first half, Memorial senior Lauren Windsor opened the scoring in the 67th minute, on a goal that would prove to be the winner.

Rookie Jessie Noseworthy added an insurance marker in the 83rd minute. The goal was her first as a Sea-Hawk.

Memorial keeper Hannah Noseworthy earned her second straight shutout.

Defender Paula Whitten was the Subway Player of the Game in the win.

Heavy rain started just before game time and was intermittent throughout.

Memorial coach Walt Mavin was very happy with his team's performance on the weekend.

"We have had a busy week with tryouts and the start of university classes so I am very pleased our effort and results this weekend," he said. "We had great contributions all around. We'll try to keep it rolling this week in practice."

Saint Mary's will next see action Friday evening when they host Université de Moncton.

Memorial will be off next weekend but will travel to New Brunswick for their annual three-game road trip from Sept. 20-22 when they play UNB, Moncton and Mount Allison.
