AUS Women's Hockey Weekly Round Up: Week 11

StFX 4 vs. St. Thomas 3 (2OT) (Box Score)
(FREDERICTON, N.B.) The St. Thomas University Tommies fell to the conference leading St. Francis Xavier X-Women 4-3 in double overtime in AUS women's hockey action Friday night at the Grant-Harvey Centre. After a scoreless five minutes of four-on-four, the X-Women put the final tally on the scoreboard in the second overtime when Sarah Bujold found her own rebound and buried it to lift the X-Women over the Tommies. Other goals for the X-Women in their victory came from Santana Gravelle, Emily Power, and Kristen McKinley, while goals from the Tommies came from Olivia Reid (2) and Danielle Ring. StFX 4 vs. Mount Allison 2 (Box Score
(SACKVILLE, N.B.) The U SPORTS No. 4 ranked StFX X-Women extended their winning streak to 11 games with a 4-2 victory over the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday evening. The X-Women held a 1-0 lead after two periods and scoring three more in the third period to hang on for the win, their 18th of the season as they lead the AUS standings. Veteran fifth year captain Daley Oddy opened the scoring for the X-Women just 43 seconds in, for her 14th goal of the season to lead all of U SPORTS in goals and points with 28 on the season. Other X-Women goals on the night came from Santana Gravelle, Sarah Bujold, and a short-handed tally from Kate Gotaas. Goals from the Mounties in the loss came from Heather Richards (PP) and Jessica Desautels (PP). Read more: Recap 

Saint Mary's 3 vs. St. Thomas 0 (Box Score)
(FREDERICTON, N.B.) Rebecca Clark of the Saint Mary's University Huskies recorded 25 saves to lift her team over the St. Thomas University Tommies 3-0 in AUS women's hockey action Saturday night at the Grant-Harvey Centre. Goals from the Huskies in their victory came from Kaitlin Howarth (PP), Mary Worndl, and Nicole Blanche. Read more: Recap 

UPEI 1 vs. Moncton 3 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) The Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues earned a 3-1 victory at home over the UPEI Panthers Saturday. After a scoreless first period, Marie-Pier Corriveau put the Aigles Bleues on the board at the 14:15 mark of the second frame, to hold a 1-0 edge heading into the final period. A powerplay tally from Moncton's Katherine Dubuc followed by a goal from teammate Katryne Villeneuve put the Aigles Bleues ahead by three. A goal from Caroline Daoust with just 46 seconds remaining in the game put the Panthers on the board, but it would not be enough as the Aigles Bleues held on for the win. 


Sunday, Jan. 28

Dalhousie 1 vs. Mount Allison 0 (Box Score)
(SACKVILLE, N.B.) The Mount Allison Mounties fell short to the Dalhousie Tigers 1-0 on Sunday. The first period went without a goal, but Jennifer Thompson, assisted by Victoria Macintosh brought the Tigers a 1-0 lead at 15:44 of the second period. Tigers goalie Jessica Severeyns earned the shutout, turning away 13 shots. Read more: Recap
