(HALIFAX, N.S.) In week 6 of AUS football action, STFX's Silas Fagnan and Ben Hadley, along with Acadia's Riley Comeau, have been recognized for their outstanding play as the AUS football players of the week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Name: Silas Fagnan
University: S. Francis Xavier University
Position: Quarterback

STFX X-Men quarterback Silas Fagnan is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. Oct. 1, 2023.
A human kinetics student in his third year of eligibility from Bonnyville, Alta., Fagnan scored two rushing touchdowns and threw another in STFX's 34-31 win against Bishop's Friday night in triple overtime.
He threw a 37-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, and scored on two-yard and one-yard rushing plays. His latter touchdown came midway through the fourth quarter and his ensuing two-point conversion pass tied the game at 25-25.
Fagnan was 21-38 for 267 passing yards in the game and he rushed four times for 18 yards. He is currently second in AUS passing, averaging 214.4 yards per game.
Defensive Player of the Week
Name: Riley Comeau
University: Acadia University

Acadia Axemen linebacker Riley Comeau has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.
A kinesiology student in his third year of eligibility from Centreville, N.S., Comeau had seven tackles (six solo and two assisted) in Acadia's 17-9 loss to Mount Allison Saturday in Wolfville, N.S. These included two sacks and two tackles for loss (16 loss yards).
He was named Acadia's player of the game for his efforts.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Name: Ben Hadley

Position: Kicker/Punter
Hometown: Halifax, N.S.
Year of eligibility: Fourth
Academic program: BBA
Height and weight: 6'2", 190lbs
STFX X-Men kicker Ben Hadley is the AUS football special teams player of the week for the week ending Oct. 1, 2023.
A fourth-year business student from Halifax, N.S., Hadley scored 14 points, including the game-winning field goal in overtime to give the X-Men a 34-31 win over Bishop's.
He kicked four field goals from 45, 42, 39 and 31 yards out, including three in overtime to keep his team in the game.
Hadley's stats also included four kickoffs for 241 yards, averaging 60.3 yards per kick.
He currently leads the AUS in kicking percentage at 84% and leads in total points scored with 78 on the season.
