(SACKVILLE, N.B.) The points came early and often in the first half for the visiting STFX X-Men as they cruised to a 43-8 victory over the hometown Mounties. With the win, STFX moves to 3-0 on the season and have still yet to drop a game since 2019.

The duo of Malcom Bussey (Hammonds Plains, N.S.) and Ben Hadley (Halifax, N.S.) accounted for all of the X-Men's 28 points in the first half. The fourth-year kicker would convert on all four of his field goals from 17, 30, 36 and 45 yards and add two rouge points for the X-Men. U SPORTS All-Canadian running back Bussey would score on runs of two and 40 yards.

Hadley would follow up his strong first half with an even better second half – adding two more field goals of 40 yards or more and a 14-yard solo touchdown on a botched snap, giving him 29 total points. Silas Fagnan (Bonnyville, Alta.) threw for 225 yards on an efficient 19-for-26. In his first game of the season, Zachary Houde (Thetford Mines, Que.) added six catches for 99 yards.

Mount Allison's lone touchdown came courtesy of James Laceby (Sharon, Ont.) as he caught a four-yard slant and found the back of the end zone. Justin Vogels (Sackville, N.S.) would finish with 160 yards in the air on 14-for-25 passing, adding 72 yards on the ground.

The X-Men defence made it difficult all afternoon and were led by Josh Connors (Toronto, Ont.) who recorded six total tackles and one sack.

Mount Allison (0-2) will look to regroup as they head to Halifax on a short week to take on Saint Mary's under the lights, kickoff is 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15.

STFX (3-0) for their part will be on bye as they prepare for their week 5 opponents.
