Week 2 AUS Football Players of the Week: Cluett, Feltmate and Julien-Grant honoured

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Quarterback Cody Cluett and linebacker Bailey Feltmate, both of the Acadia Axemen, along with receiver Kaion Julien-Grant of the StFX X-Men, have been selected as the Week 2 AUS football players of the week for their respective performances this past weekend.

Acadia Axemen quarterback Cody Cluett is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. 2, 2017.

In his third year of eligibility, from Cole Harbour, N.S., Cluett tied the AUS all-time record for passing completions in a single game, posting 36 during Acadia's 25-10 win Saturday over the Bishop's Gaiters.

He tied the conference record set by former Acadia standout Keith Lockwood in a game versus McGill on Sept. 22, 2007.

Cluett completed 36 of 44 attempts for 302 yards in the air and two touchdowns, with no interceptions in the win.

Acadia Axemen linebacker Bailey Feltmate has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.

A second-year science student from Moncton, N.B., Feltmate had 10 solo tackles and five assisted tackles as the Axemen downed the Bishop's Gaiters 25-10 in their home opener Saturday in Wolfville, N.S.

Among these were three tackles for a loss of 10 total yards, including a sack for a loss of six yards. He also had a pass breakup.

University: St. Francis Xavier University
Position: Receiver
Hometown: Toronto, Ont.
Year of eligibility: Second
Academic program: BA HK
Height and weight: 6'2", 197lbs

St. Francis Xavier X-Men receiver Kaion Julien-Grant has been named the AUS football special teams player of the week.

A second-year human kinetics student from Toronto, Julien-Grant had five punt returns for 110 yards (averaging 22.0 yards per return) in StFX's 37-0 win over Mount Allison Friday night in their home opener. He also had a kickoff return for 19 yards.

Julien-Grant was also a force on offensive for the X-Men, with five receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns, along with one rush for seven yards, totaling 243 all-purpose yards in the win. He was named the Subway Player of the Game for his efforts.
