Receiver Dejuan Martin of the StFX X-Men is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. 11, 2016.

A second-year business student from Scarborough, Ont., Martin had a 79-yard touchdown reception early in the first quarter Saturday, to extend StFX's early lead to 10-0.

The reigning AUS champion X-Men went on to win the season opener 29-14 over the Mount Allison Mounties. Martin tallied eight receptions for 127 total yards in the victory.

Academic program: Bachelor of community development
Height and weight: 6'3", 190lbs

Defensive back Brandon Jennings of the Acadia Axemen is the Atlantic University Sport football defensive player of the week.

A third-year community development student from St. Albert, Alta., had two interceptions in Saturday's 30-1 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies in Wolfville, N.S.—one of which he returned for 41 yards.

Jennings' defensive stats also included two play breakups, four solo tackles and one assisted tackle.

Academic program: Bachelor of community development
Height and weight: 6'3", 190lbs

In addition to being named the AUS defensive player of the week, Acadia Axemen kicker/punter Brandon Jennings has also been named the special teams players of the week.

Jennings was 3-for-3 in field goal attempts for the Axemen and 2-for-2 in point after attempts.

His stats on special teams also included a punting average of 37.5 yards on 11 punts—four of which were downed inside the 20-yard line.
