Nadia Lavoie of the St. Thomas Tommies women’s hockey team is the Atlantic University Sport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 3, 2023.
The Alberta product is off to a fine start in just her first year of post-secondary hockey and that run continued this past week, as Lavoie scored a pair of goals in her team’s 6-3 victory over Mount Allison on Nov. 29 to close out the first semester of play in third place with a 10-3-1-2 record.
Lavoie, an Economics student, now has 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) in 16 games this season.

University: University of New Brunswick
Sport: Men’s Hockey
Position: Forward
Hometown: Guelph, ON
Year of eligibility: Third
Academic program: Business Administration
Austen Keating of the University of New Brunswick Reds men’s hockey team is the Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 3, 2023.
Keating, a third-year Business Administration student, capped the first semester of play with a massive weekend in which he accumulated six points in two games.
On Friday, the forward from Guelph, Ont., scored three goals and added an assist as his Reds defeated the STFX X-Men 5-3. The very next night, Keating recorded a goal and an assist in his team’s 9-2 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers.
Keating’s 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) puts him on top of all AUS scorers and in second place across U SPORTS.
