(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Maiya Westwood of the Memorial Sea-Hawks women's volleyball team and Eivind Andersen of the UNB Varsity Reds men's volleyball team have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Maiya Westwood of the Memorial Sea-Hawks women’s volleyball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Nov. 13, 2016.
A second-year behavioural neuroscience student from East St. Paul, Man., Westwood led the Sea-Hawks to three weekend wins at home over the Saint Mary’s Huskies this past weekend.
Memorial topped Saint Mary’s 3-1 Friday evening. Westwood had 33 assists and 17 digs in the win. Saturday, the Sea-Hawks posted a 3-2 win, with Westwood contributing 60 assists and 16 digs.
She followed these two performances up with 52 asses and 10 digs in Sunday’s 3-2 win over the Huskies.
She averaged 10.42 assists per set over the three games and also chipped in with five service aces and three blocks.

Eivind Andersen of the UNB Varsity Reds men’s volleyball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Nov. 13, 2016.
A fifth-year arts student from Sandnes, Norway, Andersen led the Varsity Reds in a pair of weekend road wins over the Memorial Sea-Hawks.
In Saturday’s 3-0 win, the 2016 AUS MVP had 17 kills, seven digs, two blocks and 18 points for UNB.
He followed up Sunday with 19 kills, seven digs, four blocks and 22 points in the Varsity Reds’ 3-1 victory.
Andersen is currently leading the Atlantic conference in both kills and points per set.
