UNB outlast Memorial 3-2 at the Field House

(ST, JOHN'S, N.L.) - The UNB Varsity Reds outlasted the Memorial Sea-Hawks 3-2 in AUS women's volleyball at the Field House on Sunday.

Set scores were 25-20, 16-25, 25-18, 19-25, and 15-11.

Subway Player of the Game for UNB was senior middle Rebecca Glancy. Vanja Mitrovic led UNB with 16 kills in the win.

Paige Nelmes had 17 digs in the win while Glancy and Jackie Sebetovsky each had 11 kills apiece for the Varsity Reds. 

Player of the game for Memorial was Angela Peddle. Peddle, a senior middle, had a match-high 20 kills in the loss.

Fellow senior Sam March added 11 kills while Jill Snow had 10 kills in the loss. Lauren Miller had a match-high 23 digs while Kirsten Sorensen had 48 assists in the loss.

Memorial are now 4-9 on the season after the weekend split.

The Sea-Hawks next games are Feb. 8 and 9 at the Field House when the play host to the Cape Breton Capers in the final home games for Angela Peddle and Sam March.

Fourth years Adrienne Penney and Samantha Jubinville-Mah will also be graduating this spring and will likely play their final home games as Sea-Hawks.

The Feb. 8 match gets underway at 7 p.m. while the Feb. 9 match will be a 10 a.m. start.

The Varsity Reds next take to the court Feb. 1 and 2 when they host the Dalhousie Tigers Saturday at 6 p.m. followed by the Saint Mary's Huskies Sunday at 3 p.m.
