Memorial tops Moncton to split weekend wins with Aigles Bleues

(ST. JOHN'S, N.L.) - The Memorial Sea-Hawks notched their first win of the season, defeating the Moncton Aigles Bleues in five sets at the Field House Sunday. The set scores of the match were 25-12, 25-27, 25-15, 25-27 and 15-7.

Fourth-year left side Sam March led Memorial in the win with 11 kills and 15 digs. Senior middle Angela Peddle also had 11 kills for the Sea-Hawks. Krista Hogan added eight kills and 15 digs, while setter Kirsten Sorensen had 36 assists.

Joline Richard led Moncton with eight kills and 11 digs in the loss.

March was named Subway Player of the Game for Memorial while Maxine Alie Poirier earned the honours for Moncton.

The win improved Memorial to 1-5. The Sea-Hawks will travel to Wolfville on Nov. 16 and 17 for a series against the Acadia Axewomen.

Moncton fell to 2-4 with the loss.
