(FREDERICTON, N.B.) The UNB REDS scored twice in the final six minutes to beat the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues 2-1 in the second game of their best-of-five semi-final series, Sunday night at UNB's Aitken Centre, in the 2025 Bell AUS Women's Hockey Championship.

UNB now leads the series two-games-to-one.

Josie Chisholm's (Antigonish, NS) unassisted goal with 1:49 to play proved to be the winner.

"I just thought I need to get this up and see what happens," said Chisholm, of her shot from just inside the blueline. "Obviously, it worked. Sometimes a muffin will do it."

The visiting Aigles Bleues were first on the scoreboard.

With about four minutes to play in the opening period, Amélie Vachon (Ste-Blaise sur Richelieu, QC) swept across the front of the REDS net and lifted a backhand past UNB goalie Cassie McCallum (Rothesay, NB).

In the second period, the teams settled into a defensive battle.

The REDS held Moncton without a shot on goal for the first 14:29 of the period.

The Aigles Bleues would muster only two shots the whole period and the REDS just five.

As they did after one period, Moncton took their 1-0 lead to the second intermission.

With time winding down, AUS scoring champion Katelyn Scott gave the REDS life.

On the power-play, she fired a wrist shot from the left face-off circle that beat Annick Boudreau (Memramcook, NB) blocker side.

Chisholm's game winner came less than four minutes later.

The series now shifts to Moncton for games three and four, if necessary.

Game three goes Tuesday night. Face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

"I think that game secured some momentum for us," said Chisholm. "The girls are feeling good."
