Hockey Aigles Bleues fall 1-0 to Mounties

(MONCTON, N.S.) - Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (3-6-1) suffered their fourth consecutive loss with a 1-0 victory by the Mount Allison University Mounties (3-6-0) Atlantic University Sport women's hockey action Sunday afternoon at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

Megan Cameron was the lone goal scorer in the second period to give her team the win. The Aigles Bleues missed number of chances throughout game, having a 32-15 edge on shots on goal.

Subway Player of the Game, goaltender Katie O'Brien, made a number of saves for the Mounties. The Aigles had a five-on-three advantage at the end of the third period but were unable to score. Gabrielle Forget was netminder for Moncton in the loss.

"Everybody worked hard today and we made fewer mental errors," said Moncton head coach Denis Ross. "We were able to do adjustments during the game and now, we look forward and I know things will come. We are going to work on our systems this week. We are looking to be more opportunistic."

Mount Allison will travel to Antigonish Friday to face off against the undefeated StFX X-Women. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. 

The Aigles Bleues will travel to Fredericton on Saturday for a 3 p.m. encounter with the third-place St. Thomas University Tommies (4-3-3).
