Colley pours in 37 points as No. 4-ranked Huskies remain undefeated

(HALIFAX, N.S.) The CIS No. 4-ranked Saint Mary's Huskies women's basketball team remained undefeated with an 85-64 win over the Dalhousie Tigers Wednesday evening at the Homburg Centre in Halifax.

The Huskies (7-0) and Tigers (4-2) were tied at twenty-seven midway through the second quarter when Saint Mary's  went on a 23-4 run that extended into the early portion of the second half.

CIS athlete of the week and Subway player of the game Justine Colley (East Preston, N.S.) scored 37 points and added eight steals to propel the Huskies to victory. Colley's performance increased her CIS-leading scoring average to 27.7 points per game.

Laura Langille (Bedford, N.S.) dropped 19 points and added seven rebounds while Naomie Fequiere (Miami, FL.) chipped in 12 for Saint Mary's.

Tessa Stammberger (Kensington, P.E.I.) scored 15 points and added eight rebounds while Anna Von Maltzahn (Halifax, N.S.) registered 14 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Tigers.

The Tigers will finish off the first semester of conference play when they host the UPEI Panthers this Saturday at the Dalplex.

With the win the Huskies head into the Christmas break in first place in the AUS standings.

Saint Mary's will see action again on the weekend of December 28th when they host the CIS Holiday Classic at the Homburg Centre.
