In Week 5 of AUS men's soccer action, the StFX X-Men picked up six points, allowing them to move into second in the standings.

The X-Men had a big home win on Friday night, dropping the Mount Allison Mounties 6-1 on a chilly evening at StFX Stadium. StFX goals came from Damian DeDekker, Dylan Vil, Isaac VanWychen, Nicolas Goldsztein, Samuel Borrowcliffe and Myroslav Zastavnyy. Filipo Shogonya scored the lone goal for Mount Allison, while Freshman StFX midfielder Isaac VanWychen was named the Player of the Game for his efforts.

Saturday night, StFX completed the six-point weekend, thanks in part to a 4-0 victory over the UPEI Panthers at StFX Stadium. Logan Rieck (2), Dylan Vil and Kyle Cordeiro all recorded tallies in the win. Logan Rieck's two-goal performance earned him player of the game for the home squad, while goalkeeper Evan Couturier took home the same honours for the visiting Panthers.

The Cape Breton Capers scored a decisive 5-1 victory over the visiting UPEI Panthers Friday evening. Owen Sheppard recorded a hattrick in the win, earning Chartwells player of the match honours. Andre Beecher and Kieran Maddock added tallies in the win, while Jonathan MacKenzie scored the lone goal for the Panthers.

Cape Breton then secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday night on home turf at Ness Timmons Field. Max Piepgrass and Muad Mohamoud both recorded tallies for the Capers in the win, while Jack Bennett scored the lone goal for Mount Allison in the loss. Owen Sheppard, who was a scoring threat throughout, was the Chartwells player of the match for the Capers, while Bennett was named the top performer for the Mounties. With the weekend sweep, the Capers earned a playoff berth, extending their record to 7-0-1 on the season.

Toni Adeoye scored twice as the Acadia Axemen topped the Dalhousie Tigers 3-1 on Friday night at Raymond Field. Liam Kelly also recorded a tally in the win, with Jack Ellis scoring the lone goal for Dalhousie in the loss.

The Tigers bounced back Saturday night, earning their first win of the season with a 2-1 win over the UNB Reds. Michael Trim opened the scoring just eight minutes into the match, with Ben Hashimoto doubling the score just two minutes after. UNB's Roan Sauengmeng put the Reds on the board late in the game, but the Reds efforts for a comeback would fall short. Hashimoto was rewarded for his game-winning goal by receiving the Player of the Game award.

The Saint Mary's Huskies and UNB Reds played to a 1-1 draw in a physical, back-and-forth match on Friday night at Huskies Stadium in Halifax. Jalen Loague found the back of the net for Saint Mary's, with Keji Adeniyi recording a tally for UNB.  Reds' goaltender Mahmoud Moustafa made five saves on the night, with Ryan Davis making three for the home team.

Saturday night, reserve midfielder Achraf Achkra scored a 90th-minute header as the Moncton Aigles Bleus defeated the Saint Mary's Huskies 2-1 in Halifax. Robert Kamano added a tally for Moncton in the win, while Woody Bain scored the lone goal for the Huskies in the loss.
