Capers, Huskies battle to 1-1 draw in Sydney

(SYDNEY, N.S.) - The Cape Breton Capers improved to 1-2-2 on the season after battling the visiting Saint Mary's Huskies to a 1-1 draw in AUS men's soccer action in Sydney, Sunday afternoon.

Ian Greedy converted a penalty kick for his third goal of the season in the 34th minute to give CBU a 1-0 lead over the Huskies, now 3-1-1 on the year.

The lead was short lived however, with the Huskies tallying just a minute later on a long strike by Rodrigo Faria de Carvalho with his second goal of 2013.

Ethan MacInnis made four saves in goal for the Capers while keeper Adam Miller stopped seven shots for the Huskies.

CBU will return to action Friday when they host the StFX X-Men in a 5:15 p.m. start at the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex on the CBU campus.

The Huskies will now head to Antigonish to take on the X-Men Sunday afternoon at 3:15 PM. That came can be seen live at www.AUStv.ca.
