The UNB REDS, Moncton Aigles Bleus and UPEI Panthers all skated to sweeps this weekend, as the tight race that is AUS men's hockey continued.

The UPEI Panthers (3-3) put on an offensive clinic Friday night with Kyle Maksimovich (Hamilton, ON) and Kaleb Pearson (St. Mary's, ON) leading the charge in a 9-1 win over Saint Mary’s—the Huskies' first loss of the season. The Subway player of the game, Maksimovich recorded his first AUS hat trick and added two assists, while Pearson contributed with two goals and an assist. Troy Lajeunesse, Jordan Maher, Carson MacKinnon and Danil Antropov also found the back of the net in the win.

The following night, UPEI visited Acadia (2-3) and held on to an early lead to top the Axemen 5-3. A three-goal first period from UPEI was the difference maker in the game. Acadia attempted a comeback, getting within one in the second, but they could not find a way to tie the game.

Earlier in the week, Acadia was shutout by the U SPORTS number four Saint Mary's Huskies in a 4-0 contest in Halifax. Huskies goal scorers were Nathan Dunkley (Campbellford, ON), Keith Getson (Bridgewater, NS), Dawson Theede (Brooklin, ON) and Charlie Dafonseca (Thornhill, ON).

Cody Morgan (Gilford, ON) had two goals and an assist to help the UNB REDS snap a rare two-game losing streak with a dominant 6-1 win over the STFX X-Men on Friday night. Michael Petizian (Mississauga, ON) also had two goals, while Austen Keating (Guelph, ON) added a goal and an assist in the win. Petizian’s first two AUS goals earned him Subway player of the game.  Samuel Richard (Ste. Catherine, QC)  made 22 saves in net for the REDS while Joseph Raaymakers (Chatham, ON) made 38 saves for STFX.

On Saturday, Simon Pinard (Drummondville, QC) scored twice to lead the REDS to a 5-1 win over the Dalhousie Tigers (1-5). Pinard’s pair came alongside Camaryn Baber’s (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) first goal of the season. Austen Keating (Guelph, ON) and Benjamin Corbeil (Granby, QC) also scored for UNB.

Moncton (4-2) had two home-ice wins on the weekend, first defeating Dalhousie by a score of 4-1. Goalkeeper Étienne Montpetit made 24 saves for the bleu et or, with Jacob Dion, Mike Cyr, Olivier-Luc Hache and Thomas Pelletier finding the net. Christian Huntley scored for the Tigers. The Aigles Bleus got a big win the following night—their fourth in a row—in a 4-1 decision over the STFX X-Men. Edouard St-Laurent had two goals for Moncton, joined by Nathael Roy, Vincent Deslauriers, while Josh Nelson scored for the X-Men.
