In Week 6 of AUS men's hockey action, the UNB Reds skated to their ninth-straight victory, while the UPEI Panthers and Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus earned back-to-back wins to climb their way up the standings.

The Reds kicked off the week with some Tuesday night action against the Acadia Axemen. UNB had no issues, earning a 5-0 shutout victory, led by goalie Samuel Richard who stopped all 20 shots he faced. UNB goals in the win came from Brady Gilmour, Simon Pinard, Jason Willms (SH), Cole MacKay and Kade Landry. UNB's Austen Keating was named Subway Player of the Game.

The Reds then scored twice in the first period and twice in the second in a 5-1 win over the Acadia Axemen Friday night. Adam McCormick scored twice and assisted on another goal to lead the Reds, earning Subway Player of the Game honours. Austen Keating, Benjamin Corbeil and Isaac Nurse also recorded tallies in the win, while Brendan Sellan's power-play tally at the end of the third was the lone goal for Acadia in the loss.

It took UNB just 24 seconds to open the scoring in Saturday's 5-2 win over the visiting Saint Mary's Huskies. Kade Landry took a pass in the high slot and fired a wrist shot that beat Huskies goalie Jeremy Helvig. Landry later added an assist on the night to be named Subway Player of the Game. Other UNB tallies came from Isaac Nurse, Cody Morgan (PP), Jason Willms, and Adam McCormick (PP). Bradey Johnson (PP) and Jaxon Bellamy found the back of the net for the visiting Huskies.

The U SPORTS No. 9 ranked UPEI Panthers dropped the StFX X Men 7-5 at the Keating Centre Wednesday evening in a back-and-forth high scoring affair. UPEI tallies came from Matt Brassard (2), TJ Shea, Kyle Maksimovich (2) and Troy Lajeunesse (2), while  Matthew Philip, Declan Smith, Jacob Hudson (PP), Logan Chisholm (2) all found the back of the net for StFX. Panthers goaltender Jonah Capriotti made a huge 44 saves on the night, while Joseph Raaymakers stopped 30 for the X-Men.

The Panthers then earned their seventh win in the last eight games as backup goaltender Lucas Fitzpatrick recorded his first AUS win and shutout in a 2-0 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers Saturday night. The sophomore netminder turned aside 19 shots and was rewarded with Subway Player of the Game honours for his effort. TJ Shea and Darian Pilon (SH) both recorded goals for UPEI in the win.

The Saint Mary's Huskies fired 39 shots on net but were unable to beat Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus goaltender Étienne Montpetit, as the Aigles Bleus defeated the Huskies 2-0 Friday night in Moncton. The Aigles Bleus opened the scoring in the final minute of the first period, as Mika Cyr lifted the puck over Huskies goaltender Matt Welsh. After a scoreless second, Nathaël Roy took advantage of an open net late in the third period to secure the victory for the home team.

The Aigles Bleus found the back of the net four times in the first twenty minutes of play, then held on for a 4-2 win against the Axemen Saturday night. Moncton tallies came from Maxime Boudreau. Jeremy Michel (PP), Jacob Dion (SH) and Remy Anglehart, while Corson Hopwo and Brendan Tomlison found the back of the net for Acadia.

The StFX X-Men overcame a four-goal deficit late in the second period and scored six unanswered goals to beat the Dalhousie Tigers 7-5 Friday night at the Halifax Forum. Jacob Hudson earned Subway player of the game honours for StFX as his two goals helped fuel the X-Men comeback and deliver the win.
