The U SPORTS no. 6-ranked Gaiters rolled to a 59-0 victory over the Acadia Axemen in Saturday's AUS semifinal presented by Bell.
The conference's top passer led the undefeated Gaiters, connecting on 21 of 30 passes for 364 yards and four touchdowns in a little more than three quarters of work.
His long of 70 yards for a touchdown to receiver Oliver Burnett early in the second quarter was perfect as the Gaiters punched their ticket to the league championship.
Bishop's will host the Saint Mary's Huskies on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. EST in the championship game, the AUS Loney Bowl presented by Bell. Tickets are available at www.gaiters.ca/tickets.

A fifth-year geography student from Burlington, Ont., Van Nieuwkoop led the Huskies defence with 8.0 total tackles and two forced fumbles in Saturday's 21-17 defeat of STFX in the conference's playoff semifinal.
With the win, Saint Mary's advances to the AUS championship, the Loney Bowl, where they will face the first-place Bishop's Gaiters Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. EST in Lennoxville, Que.

Bishop's Gaiters kicker Xavier Gervais is the Atlantic University Sport Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 3, 2024.
The sports studies major connected on three of four field goal attempts, was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra points, and added two rouges for 17 points on special teams as the Gaiters downed the Axemen 59-0 en route to the AUS Loney Bowl.
Gervais averaged 36.8 yards on four punts, including one inside the 20-yard line. He also booted eight kickoffs for 433 yards.
The Gaiters backup quarterback, Gervais also played most of the fourth quarter under centre and completed all four of his attempted passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.
