(SACKVILLE, N.B.) Mount Allison welcomed the visiting Bishop's Gaiters on what was Mounties Homecoming weekend at Alumni Field. The large hometown crowd held their breath as the game was decided on the final play with little time left – Bishop's would end up intercepting the ball in their own endzone and win the game 18-10.

The Gaiters would get on the board first with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Justin Quirion (Saint-Georges, QC) found teammate Oliver Burnett (Fredericton, NB) to put the opposing team up six.

Mount Allison would respond with a defensive touchdown as Ben Michel (Weyburn, SK) picked off the Bishop's quarterback and ran the ball 27 yards untouched the other way. Bishop's kicker Xavier Gervais (Ottawa, ON) would connect on his only field goal of the game from 25 yards out.

Just before the end of the third quarter, the Mounties would string together a six-play, 61-yard drive that ended with a Graeme Maither (Hinchincooke, QC) 25-yard field goal.

Defense would once again prevail when Bishop's picked up a fumble and ran it in 43 yards to go up 18-10 early in the fourth quarter. This would end up being the game's deciding play as the Mounties could not convert late in the fourth quarter at the Gaiters 2-yard line.

Bishop's (3-1) will next play host to StFX on September 29 at 7 p.m. as they look to hand the X-Men their first loss of the season.

Mount Allison (1-3) for their part will look to bounce back as they travel to Acadia in week 6 for a Saturday night game under the lights at 7 p.m.
