Tigers women, Sea-Hawks men win 2025 AUS Curling Championship
(HALIFAX, N.S.) The Dalhousie Tigers women and Memorial Sea-Hawks men won the 2025 Atlantic University Sport Curling Championship on Sunday at the historic Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax, N.S.
The women’s final saw the Tigers win their sixth championship since 2016, defeating the STFX X-Women 7-2 in seven ends. The Tigers championship roster consists of skip Ally MacNutt, second Grace McCusker, third Rebecca Regan, lead Cate Fitzgerald and alternate Cally Moore, coached by Mary Mattatal.
Both the Tigers and runner-up X-Women will represent the AUS at the U SPORTS Curling National Championships, Feb. 24-28 in Lethbridge, Alta.
The men’s final saw the Sea-Hawks win their first championship since 2017, coming from behind to defeat the UNB REDS 6-5 in eight ends. The Sea-Hawks championship roster consists of Nicholas Codner, Sean O’Leary, Simon Perry and Brayden Snow, coached by Glenn Goss.
Both the Sea-Hawks and runner-up REDS will represent the AUS at the U SPORTS Curling National Championships, Feb. 24-28 in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Women’s
UNB vs. DAL
Final Score: 6-4 DAL (8 Ends)
The Dalhousie Tigers punched their ticket to the championship final, defeating the defending champion UNB REDS by a score of 6-4. After a scoreless first end, the REDS took the lead scoring a single point in the second. The Tigers responded by stealing two points in the third to take a 2-1 lead. UNB answered with a single point in the fourth and fifth, taking a 3-2 advantage. But the sixth set proved to be the difference, with the Tigers stealing three points. The teams exchanged single points in the seventh and eighth ends, but the Tigers held on for a 6-4 win, advancing to the final to face the STFX X-Women.
Men’s
UNB vs. UPEI
Final Score: 6-4 UNB (8 Ends)
The UNB REDS punched their ticket to the championship final, defeating the UPEI Panthers by a score of 6-4. After a scoreless first end, the REDS scored two points in the second to take a 2-0 lead. But the Panthers responded, stealing two points in the third and adding two in the fourth to take a 4-2 advantage. But the REDS found a rhythm, scoring a single point in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth ends to take the 6-4 win and advance to the final to face the Memorial Sea-Hawks.

STFX vs. DAL
Final Score: 7-2 DAL (7 Ends)
After a scoreless first end, the Tigers scored three points in the second and added one point in the third to open up a 4-0 lead. The X-Women responded by stealing two points in the fourth but the Tigers responded with a single point in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh ends to extend their lead to 6-2. The X-Women conceded after the seventh, as the Tigers roster of skip Ally MacNutt, second Grace McCusker, third Rebecca Regan, lead Cate Fitzgerald and alternate Cally Moore, coached by Mary Mattatal, received the banner.

Final Score: 6-5 MUN (8 Ends)
In the men’s final, the Sea-Hawks took an initial lead, scoring two points in the first end, but the REDS responded with two points in each of the third and fourth ends, and a single point in the fifth to take a 5-2 advantage. The Sea-Hawks came roaring back, scoring two points in the sixth and adding a single point in the seventh to tie it up 5-5 through seven ends. The Sea-Hawks completed their comeback, scoring a single point in the eighth to win the match 6-5. The Sea-Hawks championship roster consists of Nicholas Codner, Sean O’Leary, Simon Perry and Brayden Snow, coached by Glenn Goss.
