U SPORTS No. 10 Axewomen remain undefeated with a win over Moncton

MONCTON, N.B. - The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (0-6) fought well on Saturday, but at the last whistle, it was the U SPORTS No. 10 ranked Acadia University Axewomen (6-0) who had the last word with a 3-0 win in an Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball game played at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud of the Moncton campus in front of over 200 spectators.

The visitors won the match by scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-10. The local team had continued its momentum of Friday by asserting itself in front of one of the best teams in the league, Friday with close scores. Moncton took the lead in two sets without being able to maintain the momentum. The visitors were able to take advantage of aggressive games to score crucial points at the right moments.

The next Blue and Gold games will be held this weekend in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador at the AUS tournament with 3 games beginning Friday against Dalhousie, Memorial and Acadia.
