(FREDERICTON, NB) A three-goal outburst in the second period propelled the UNB REDS to a 4-1 victory over the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey action, Wednesday night at UNB's Aitken Centre.
Olivia Eustace (Riverview, NB) led the way for the REDS, scoring twice, including the eventual game winner She was named Tim Horton's Player of the Game.
April Reiner (Kitchener, ON) and Lauren O'Neil (Osgoode, ON) also scored for UNB.
Annie-Pier Morency (Mont-Carmel, PE) tallied the lone goal for Moncton.
UNB dominated the shot count, outshooting Moncton 26-12.
The win solidifies the REDS' position at the top of the AUS standings. UNB is now 14-3-1-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL), while Moncton remains tied for third place at 9-5-2-1.
The Aigles Bleus return home to face UPEI on Friday at 7:00pm.
The REDS are back in action on Saturday, hosting Dalhousie in another 7:00pm start.
