Hawks Soar Past Mounties

Hawks Soar Past Mounties

On a frigid, breezy Saturday night the Memorial Sea-Hawks were triumphant by a score of 3-0 over the Mount Allison Mounties. From the opening kickoff the Sea-Hawks were seemingly in complete control, but solid goalkeeping from Mounties goalkeeper Rhys Chambers kept the game close, with only a 1-0 score at halftime.

Memorial was able to work their offence around their star striker Emmanuel Dolo, who was all over the Mounties zone, his tremendous speed and athleticism was on full display. Dolo added a marker in the 29th minute to spring the home team into the lead and then a brief power outage at the 55th minute courtesy of Hurricane Larry added an interesting twist to the matchup. This didn't slow down the Sea-Hawks however, or Dolo for that matter, as the striker added two more goals in the 60th and 65th minutes to complete his impressive performance with a hat trick. Sea-Hawks goalkeeper Dylan Crichton was able to escape with the clean sheet in what was a real team effort for the team from Memorial.

Give Mount Allison credit, despite the score line, the Mounties continued to play at a high pace, pressing the Sea-Hawks until the very end. They played with tremendous energy and intensity, expect tomorrow's match to be much tougher for the Sea-Hawks.

Player of the game: #10 Emmanuel Dolo

From start to finish Dolo was the best player on the pitch, and the stat sheet surely supports that claim. An unbelievable performance to start the season.
