Kennedy scores four in Axewomen’s rout of Huskies

WOLFVILLE – Sydney Kennedy scored four times in Acadia's 6-0 victory over the Saint Mary's Huskies on Friday night.

With a Memorial loss, and Axewomen victory they have moved into third place in the AUS.

After an own goal by Saint Mary's on a Kennedy cross, she scored once more before halftime to give Acadia a 2-0 led at the break.

She then added two more in the 46th and 66th minutes before Rosie Nichols scored for Acadia. Kennedy finished the match with an 88th minute goal.

Milena Ramirez made six saves in the clean sheet victory, while Kaitlyn Alley made 10 saves in the Huskies' loss.

Prior to the match, the 2023 graduating seniors were recognized, which includes: Isabella Segreto-Barbieri, Georgia Hamnett, Madyson HarrisLeah AdamsAlli Kelly, Cherell Lee, Curran LaydenRosie Nichols and Sydney Kennedy  

Saint Mary's will now face UPEI at home on Sunday, while the Axewomen face the Dalhousie Tigers on the road.

Acadia wraps up their regular season with a pair of games in Newfoundland next weekend against Memorial on Friday and Saturday.
