Dalhousie swimmer Emilie Schofield is the Atlantic University Sport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 20, 2024.
In the first swim meet of the season – the Amby Legere Invitational hosted by the UNB REDS – Schofield put the conference on notice with a very strong performance in the pool.
The Kinesiology student from Miramichi, N.B., picked up four individual wins – touching the wall first in the 200m backstroke, the 400m IM, 400m freestyle and 100m backstroke. If that wasn’t enough, she helped the Tigers 400m mixed medley relay team to a first-place finish.
Meet No. 2 of the season is set for Nov. 2-3 when the Acadia Axemen and Axewomen host the Jack Scholz Invitational.

Dalhousie swimmer Logan Sparkes is the Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 20, 2024.
Sparkes had a very successful opening meet of the season, recording three individual wins and a relay victory at the Amby Legere Invitational hosted by the UNB REDS this past weekend.
The fourth-year Kinesiology student earned wins in the 100m freestyle, 400m freestyle and 200m IM events. After all that, he also played a role in the win by Dalhousie’s 400m mixed medley relay.
AUS swimmers will now turn their attention to the Nov. 2-3 weekend when Acadia University will host the Jack Scholz Invitational Meet.
