(HALIFAX, N.S.) UNB REDS women's basketball forward Katie Butts and UNB men's cross country runner Jared Howse have earned AUS Athlete of the Week honours following their performances this past week.

UNB REDS women’s basketball forward Katie Butts is the Atlantic University Sport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 10, 2024.
The fourth-year forward had a career weekend, leading the REDS to a pair of wins over the Dalhousie Tigers.
She scored a career-high 36 points in Saturday’s 95-77 victory, adding 15 rebounds and six assists, earning Player of the Game honours.
In Sunday’s 88-78 win, Butts registered another double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. She also had four assists and three blocks Sunday.

UNB REDS men’s cross country runner Jared Howse is the Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 10, 2024.
The fourth-year computer science student ran to the silver medal in the men’s 8km race at the U SPORTS Cross Country Championships, in Kelowna, BC.
Howse stayed with the lead pack through the early stages of the race before breaking away with the eventual champion for the final two kilometres. Howse’s national silver medal—the highest finish in program history—helped lead the REDS to a fifth-place team finish.
