
(HALIFAX, N.S.) Dalhousie Tigers women's curling skip Ally MacNutt and Memorial Sea-Hawks men's curling skip Simon Perry have earned AUS Athlete of the Week honours following their performances this past week.

Ally MacNutt from the Dalhousie Tigers women’s curling team is the Atlantic University Sport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 5, 2025.
A third-year skip from Truro, N.S., MacNutt led the Tigers to their sixth AUS curling title since 2016 this past weekend.
The skip made key shots during the round robin to finish 3-1, heading into playoffs seeded second. The MacNutt rink then knocked out UNB in the semifinal before calmly dispatching STFX in the final 7-2.

Simon Perry from the Memorial Sea-Hawks men’s curling team is the Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 5, 2025.
A first-year skip from Portugal Cove-St. Phillip’s, N.L., Perry led the Sea-Hawks to an AUS title in the 2025 AUS Curling Championships held this past weekend in Halifax, N.S.
Perry’s Memorial squad finished the round robin 4-1, clinching a bye to Sunday’s final where they faced off against the UNB REDS.
They then topped the REDS 6-5 in eight ends to capture the conference title.
