Cape Breton's Kiyara Letlow and STFX's Ethan Burroughs named AUS Athletes of the Week

(HALIFAX, N.S.) Cape Breton CAPERS women's basketball player Kiyara Letlow and STFX X-Men hockey player Ethan Burroughs have earned AUS Athlete of the Week honours following their performances this past week.

Kiyara Letlow from the Cape Breton CAPERS women’s basketball team is the Atlantic University Sport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 1, 2024.

A fourth-year forward from Toronto, Ont., Letlow led the CAPERS to a weekend sweep over the Memorial Sea-Hawks with two double doubles.

In Friday’s 87-63 win, she managed a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds to go along with six assists and a block.

The CAPERS earned a 79-75 win Saturday. Letlow once again led all players with a game-high 18 points and a whopping 21 rebounds. She also added three assists and a steal.

Heading into the holiday break, Letlow is averaging a U SPORTS-leading 22.3 points and 15.9 rebounds per game.

STFX X-Men hockey forward Ethan Burroughs is the Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 1, 2024.

A first-year business student from Georgetown, Ont., Burroughs tallied five points in two STFX wins this past weekend.

In Wednesday’s 6-2 win over the Dalhousie Tigers, he had two assists.

He then managed a hat trick Friday night in Charlottetown, P.E.I. as the X-Men defeated the Panthers 6-1.
