(HALIFAX, N.S.) - The Dalhousie Tigers looked to continue their winning streak Saturday evening, hosting the StFX X-Women at Alumni Arena.

The Tigers were on the scoreboard first, when Elena Tsitouras scored a shorthanded goal halfway through the first period off a pass from Courtney Sheedy.

The X-Women responded, tying up the game seconds later when Kara Power scored a power play goal.

In the second period, StFX used their power plays wisely. At the five minute mark, StFX's Molly MacDonald scored a shorthanded goal. Ten minutes later, teammate Taylor Dale scored on a power play, giving the X-Women a 3-1 lead over the Tigers going into the third.

In the third period, the Tigers tried to shorten the gap. Tiger Jennifer Thompson scored a power play goal at the nine minute mark, off a pass from Lisa MacLean. Minutes later, StFX's Alexa Normore added a pair of goals to give StFX the win, 5-2.

The Tigers will play next on Nov. 28 when they visit the Mount Allison Mounties in Sackville, N.B.

StFX will host the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues the following day. Puck drop for both games is set for 7 p.m.
