(HALIFAX, N.S.) In week 7 of AUS football action, STFX's Silas Fagnan and Josh Connors, along with Bishop's Xavier Gervais, have been recognized for their outstanding play as the AUS football players of the week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Name: Silas Fagnan
University: St. Francis Xavier University

STFX X-Men quarterback Silas Fagnan is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. Oct. 8, 2023.
A human kinetics student in his third year of eligibility from Bonnyville, Alta., Fagnan threw three touchdown passes from 30, 54 and 44 yards out in STFX's 42-9 win over the Acadia Axemen Saturday in Antigonish, N.S.
The X-Men improved to 6-0 on the season and Fagnan finished the game 17-23 for 350 passing yards. He also had four rushed for 22 yards in the win.
He currently leads the conference in completions and attempts (101-169), total yards (1,422) and pass efficiency (143.3) and sits second in passing, averaging 237.0 yards per game.
Defensive Player of the Week
Name: Josh Connors

STFX X-Men linebacker Josh Connors has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.
A senior business student in his third year of eligibility from Toronto, Ont., Connors led all defensive players in the game with 8.0 tackles (six solo and four assisted) in STFX's 42-9 win over Acadia Saturday.
He had two tackles for a loss of five yards in the win, including a sack. Connors currently leads the conference in tackling and sits fifth nationally, averaging 7.0 tackles per game with 42.0 on the season.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Name: Xavier Gervais
University: Bishop's University
Position: Kicker
Hometown: Ottawa, Ont.

Academic program: Sports Studies
Height and weight: 6'1", 214lbs
Bishop's Gaiters kicker Xavier Gervais is the AUS football special teams player of the week for the week ending Oct. 8, 2023.
A second-year sports studies student from Ottawa, Ont., Gervais was perfect on the day, earning 13 of the Gaiters' 63 points in their 63-7 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies Saturday in Halifax, N.S.
He made good on both his field goal attempts from 43 and 11 yards, respectively, as well as all seven of his extra point attempts. His stats also included five kickoffs for 416 yards (52.0 yard average).
With the win, the Gaiters clinched their spot in 2023 postseason.
