Panthers take down Moncton 4-1 for first win of the season
The University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (1-0-1) took advantage of the ice time with two goals on the power play for a 4-1 win over the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (0-2) in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game Saturday at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

The University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (1-0-1) took advantage of the ice time with two goals on the power play for a 4-1 win over the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (0-2) in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game Saturday at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
The visitors ruined the hopes of the 575 fans who attended this first home game of the new season and who aspired to a victory. Nathaël Roy (Denis Toner, Edouard St-Laurent) lifted the partisan crowd by giving the Aigles Bleus a 1-0 lead in the 3rd minute of the first period.
The lead did not last long with the first of the visitors by Kaleb Pearson (Drake Pilon, Richard Whittaker). Four minutes later, also with a man advantage. TJ Shea (Darian Pilon) scored with 4 minutes to play in the first to give the visitors a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Owen Hendrick (Troy Lajeunesse, Pearson) then brought the score to 3-1 in the middle of the period and Tanner McCabe scored on the empty net late in the third for the final score. Goaltender Jonah Capriotti faced 25 (10-7-8) shots for the win, while Emile Samson faced 34 (7-14-13) for the loss.
