Talia Vydykhan of the Dalhousie University Tigers women’s volleyball team is the Atlantic University Sport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 4, 2024.
The third-year outside hitter from Hammonds Plains, N.S., was instrumental in her team’s sweep of the Memorial University Sea-Hawks this past weekend, recording a combined 18 kills and 19 digs in just six sets of work.
In Friday’s 3-0 victory, Vydykhan registered 11 kills, 10 digs and a service ace. The next day, the Therapeutic Arts student put together seven kills, nine digs and two service aces as her team wrapped up another 3-0 win.
Vydykhan leads her team in points (162.5), kills (134) and service aces (15).

University: UNB
Sport: Men’s Hockey
Position: Defence
Hometown: Waterville, N.B.
Year of eligibility: Third
Academic program: Business Administration
Adam McCormick of the UNB Reds men’s hockey team is the Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 4, 2024.
The third-year defenceman from Waterville, N.B., had a big weekend, leading his Reds to a pair of wins while collecting five points in the process.
In Friday’s 5-3 win over STFX, the Business Administration student scored and assisted on the game-winning goal.
One night later, McCormick scored and added two assists in his team’s 8-2 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers.
McCormick now leads the AUS in assists (29) and sits fifth in points (36).
