(WOLFVILLE, N.S.) The number-two-seeded Dalhousie Tigers remain undefeated this season with a 1-0 win over the number six Memorial Sea-Hawks in semi-final play.

Carley Birrell (Hammonds Plains, N.S.) scored the lone goal that would count as the game-winner in the 80th minute against the Sea-Hawks.

Birrell, who was named the Subway Player of the Game, scored on a great pass from teammate Chloe Richardson (Calgary, AB) that allowed Birrell to catch the lower left corner of the net past Ryley Stewart (London, ON).

“I am so excited and proud of my team. Number seven on MUN [Claire Langille] is a great player and our team goal was to try to shut her down and secure the win,” noted Birrell after the game.

Five-time AUS All-Star keeper Sydney Walsh (St. John’s, Nfld.) stopped 11 shots on goal while seeing 26 shots directed at her. Walsh was injured in the 64th minute and never returned with Stewart replacing her.

Annabel Gravely (Toronto, ON) saved five shots on the net to keep her record free of any losses this season.

The Tigers advance to the 2022 Subway AUS Women's Soccer Championship final against the Cape Breton Capers. The Tigers will be in a championship game for the first time since 2012 when they beat the Capers  3-1 to win the AUS title.

The AUS Championship game is scheduled for 2:00 pm (AT) on Saturday, Nov. 5, and can be viewed on AUStv.ca.
