X-Women and Axewomen clinch playoff positions in this week's action

The StFX X-Women played to a 2-0 victory over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues while the Acadia Axewomen tied the Dalhouse Tigers 1-1, allowing them to clinch playoff positions.

With just two AUS women's soccer games this week, the X-Women remain undefeated and extended their record to 6-0-3 as they blanked the Aigles Bleues 2-0. Larissa White and Amanda Smith got on the board for StFX in the win, while Moncton goaltender Chelsea Burnham had nine saves in the loss.

The Axewomen also remain undefeated as they played to a 1-1 draw against the Tigers Wednesday evening. Goals in the match came from Dalhousie's Riley Donovan and Acadia's Lauren Jodrey. The Axewomen now sit in first position with a 7-0-2 record, while the Tigers sit in fourth with a 5-3-1 record.

Although they did not have a game this week, the Cape Breton Capers have also clinched a playoff position as they sit in second place with a 7-1-0 record.
