In Week 5 of AUS women's hockey action, the UNB Reds earned their ninth-straight victory, while the StFX X-Women recorded a weekend sweep for their third-straight win.

The Reds hosted the St. Thomas Tommies in Fredericton Friday evening, where they blanked the visitors 2-0. Cassie McCallum made 19 saves for the shutout win, earning Subway Player of the Game honours for her effort. UNB goals in the win came from Tamina Kehler and Sydney Oitomen (PP).

UNB then skated to a 3-0 victory over the UPEI Panthers in Charlottetown Saturday night, with goaltender Kendra Woodland making 30 saves for the shutout. Lillian George, Lauren Carter and Ashley Stratton (PP) all found the back of the net for the Reds.

The U SPORTS #8 ranked StFX X-Women earned a 3-2 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies Wednesday night at the Dauphinee Centre in Halifax. Maggy Burbidge earned AUS Subway Player of the Game honours with two goals on the night, while teammate Lauren Dabrowski added a tally in the win. Goals from Saint Mary's came from Shae Demale and Abigail Burbidge.

The X-Women remain undefeated at home as they played to a 4-1 win over the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday night in Antigonish. Lauren Dabrowski had a three-point night with two goals and an assist to lead the way for the X-Women, earning Subway Player of the game honours. Other StFX goals came from Lea MacLeod and Maggy Burbidge (PP), while Island Bernard-Docker recorded a tally for the Mounties in the loss. StFX goalie Amaya Giraudier had 16 saves in the game for the win.

The Dalhousie Tigers saw both of their games this weekend going into extra innings. Saturday night, they fell 3-2 in a shootout to the St. Thomas Tommies. In the exciting shootout finish, Tommies goaltender Katie Sweeney sealed the game by stopping all three of her shooters. Tommies' shooters went one for three, with the lone shootout scorer Stephanie Goertzen went top shelf on the Tigers goalie with the second attempt to win the game. Goals in regulation came from St. Thomas' Emma Wilson (PP) and Goertzen, and Dalhousie's Brooklyn Paisley found the back of the net twice.

Sunday afternoon, the Tigers bounced back as Olivia Eustace's overtime heroics secured a win for Dalhousie, who took down the UPEI Panthers 3-2. The winning goal came on a power play at 2:35 when Gabrielle Noordijk sent a pass to Brooklyn Paisley in front of the net where she got off a quick shot. She then took her own rebound and delivered a pass to Eustace, who redirected it in. Goals in regulation came from Dalhousie's Alix Yallowega (PP) and Abby Wamboldt, with Orianna MacNeil (PP) and Taylor Gillis (PP) recording tallies for UPEI.

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues split their games this week, first edging the Mount Allison Mounties 2-1 Wednesday evening in Moncton. Lucy Newman got the Mounties on the board with a short-handed tally in the first, however, the Aigles Bleues bounced back in the third with goals from Alexia Desforges and Shani Rossignol (PP) to secure the win.

Saint Mary's forward Kara MacLean scored two powerplay goals, leading the Huskies to a 2-1 win over the visiting Aigles Bleues Saturday afternoon at the Dauphinee Centre in Halifax. MacLean earned Subway Player of the Game honours for her efforts, while Flavie Gaydon scored the lone goal for Moncton in the loss. Ridleigh Hansen made 19 saves in the Huskies goal, while Annick Boudreau stopped 23 shots for the Aigles Bleues.
