After dropping their first game of the season, the UNB Reds have won three straight games, allowing them to rise up the AUS women's hockey standings to sit in fourth.
The Reds hosted two games this week, first taking on the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues Wednesday evening, where they hung on for the 4-3 win. The Reds took off to a 4-1 lead in the second, until the Aigles Bleues looked for a comeback with a goal from Elizabeth Tremblay late in the second and a tally from Isadora Quirion in the third, but it would not be enough as the Reds held on to earn the two points. Myah Bowal, Ashley Stratton (PP), Tamina Kehler and Hanna Matchett scored for the Reds in the victory, with Katherine Dubuc adding the third tally for Moncton.
UNB then hosted the Dalhousie Tigers Saturday night, where they earned a 4-1 win. The Tigers took the lead in the first with a goal from Lauren Ellerton, but the Reds rallied to score four unanswered goals for the win. UNB tallies came from Stratton (2), Frederike Cyr (PP) and Jenna MacLean (PP) with Hilary Cashin making 16 saves in the game.
