Capers extend win streak to five with pair of wins

The Cape Breton Capers extended their win streak to five this weekend as they earned a 76-63 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies and topped the Acadia Axewomen 92-85. The Capers now sit tied atop the AUS women's basketball standings with the UPEI Panthers with 40 points.

In a week with four-points on the line for all matchups, the Axewomen split their games this week, as they played to a 83-66 win over the StFX X-Women on Wednesday evening. Haley MacDonald earned Subway player of the game honours in the game as she finished with a game-high 34 points.

The Huskies also split their games, topping the X-Women 85-77 on Saturday evening. Arianna Macias was the leading scorer for the Huskies with 22 points on the night, while Subway Player of the Game Alaina McMilan scored 18 and had six rebounds. 

The Panthers earned a four-point victory on Sunday afternoon as they topped the Dalhousie Tigers 76-45 in Halifax.
