(HALIFAX, NS) - The Tigers beat the Memorial Sea-Hawks 2-0 on a rainy and windy Friday night, at Wickwire Field in Halifax. This AUS men's soccer match-up was the only one to go on as scheduled this week, due to the arrival and aftermath of Hurricane Fiona.

Early in the first half, fifth-year striker, Mohammed Jaber (Halifax, NS) opened the scoring for the Tigers. A beautiful turn around his defender allowed Jaber to find the bottom right-hand corner.

Just over 20 minutes later, Jared Ndopedro (Campbellton, NB) doubled the score for the Tigers with a flick from a short corner.

Memorial worked the ball well through transition but was unable to get shots on target. They only tallied three shots over the full 90 minutes.

A red card was given to Suliman Elomrani in the middle of the second half, after being shown his second yellow card in a short period of time. However, the Tigers were able to weather the storm of the second half, holding on to their two-goal lead.

Aidan Rushenas saved all three shots on goal to secure a shutout for the Tigers.

This victory marked the second win of the season for the Tigers, both on home turf. Tonight’s defeat marks the Sea-Hawks third loss of the season.

Dalhousie’s Kyle Routledge (Halifax, NS) earned Subway Player of the Game honours for his solid play and distribution in the middle of the park.
