Capers remain undefeated to top men's soccer standings

The Cape Breton Capers earned their seventh win this weekend as they topped the Mount Allison Mounties 5-0 Saturday night to sit 7-0-1 on the season. The capers sit in first place with 22 points. Michael Gould and Charlie Waters led the Capers with two goals apiece, with Daniel Williams adding a tally in the win. For his high offense and goal scoring, the Subway Player of the game was Michael Gould.

The U SPORTS No. 10 UNB Reds moved into third palce in the AUS standings after earning back-to-back weekend wins. The Reds hosted the Acadia Axemen Saturday, blanking them 3-0. Goals in the win came from Keji Adeniyi, Luis Garcia and Tristan Nkoghe. 

They then travelled to Charlottetown Sunday afternoon to take on the UPEI Panthers, where they earned a 2-1 victory, where Garcia led the Reds with two goals. The lone goal for the Panthers came from Cohen Reddick-Stevens.

The StFX X-Men played just one game over the weekend, blanking the Mounties 5-0 Sunday afternoon, allowing them to improve to 6-1-1 and sit in second place. Dan Hayfield led the X-Men with a hattrick in the win, with Tane Caubo adding a tally and the team receiving credit for a goal.

The Tigers improve to 4-1-3 on the season with a 2-1 win over cross-town rivals the Saint Mary's Huskies Friday night. Dalhousie goals came from Freddy Bekkers at the 52 minute mark and Enrico Rodriguez at 58:51. Fabian Perez put the Huskies on the board at the 82 minute mark of the match but it would not be enough as Dalhousie held on for the victory.

The Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus earned their second win of the season on Saturday as they hosted the UPEI Panthers, blanking them 2-0. Jean-Michel Dako and Adrien Nagy scored for the Aigles Bleus, with Christian Masimengo making four saves in the victory.
