Mount Allison running back Brandt Burzuk is the AUS offensive player of the week for the week ending September 18, 2022.
A first-year science student from Red Deer, Alberta, Burzuk was named the Subway player of the game in Mount Allison’s 12-9 win over the Acadia Axemen on Saturday. He posted a game-high 115 yards on 21 carries, averaging 5.5 yards. He also scored a first-quarter touchdown for the Mounties, which would end up being the only major of the game.
Thanks to their 3-0 record, Mount Allison is currently tied for the top spot in AUS standings. They’ll face the also undefeated STFX X-Men this coming weekend at home.
Defensive Player of the Week
Name: Dennis Rossler
University: Mount Allison University
Position: Defensive end
Hometown: Scarborough, Ontario
Year of eligibility: Third
Academic program: Bachelor of Arts
Height and weight: 6’2”, 240lbs
Mount Allison’s Dennis Rossler is the AUS defensive player of the week for the week ending September 18, 2022.
A third-year arts student from Scarborough, Ontario, Rossler played a key role in a defensive battle with the Acadia Axemen in Wolfville on Saturday, where the Mount Allison Mounties came out on top 12-9. Rossler tallied 7 total tackles and 6.0 solo tackles for Mount Allison. He also had one tackle for a loss of one yard.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Name: Ben Hadley
University: St. Francis Xavier University
Position: Kicker/Punter

Height and weight: 6’2”, 193lbs
STFX kicker/punter Ben Hadley is the AUS special teams player of the week for the week ending September 18, 2022.
Hadley, a third-year business student from Halifax, Nova Scotia, kicked four field goals and one extra point on Saturday, contributing 13 points to the X-Men’s 21-16 victory over the Bishop’s Gaiters. His field goals came from 17, 39, 47 and 38 yards out, all in the first half, giving STFX a 19-1 halftime lead.
Hadley also had eight punts in the game for 290 yards and three kick-offs for 185 total yards. The STFX X-Men improved to a 3-0 record on the season, tied for first place in the conference.
