(FREDERICTON, NB) The visiting Cape Breton CAPERS defeated the UNB REDS 99-90 in Atlantic University Sport men's basketball action Saturday afternoon at UNB's Richard J. Currie Center.
Shakael Pryce (Pickering, ON) had an impressive game for the CAPERS with a game-high 28 points.
Not far behind was Tyson Cato (Ajax, ON), who added 26 points for the visiting team. Cato was named Tim Hortons Player of the Game.
Matthias Muscroft (Sussex, NB) came off the bench to lead the REDS with 21 points, and was a driving force in the second half, hitting on four three-pointers. Muscroft also had 10 assists.
Marcus Barnes (Kitchener, ON) finished with 17 points.
Despite the REDS efforts, the CAPERS took the win.
The loss moves UNB to a 4-7 record, while the CAPERS now sit at 7-4.
The CAPERS head home to host the Acadia Axemen, Friday at 8:00pm.
The REDS play host to the Saint Mary's Huskies the same night. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00pm in that game too.
