Antigonish, NS – The U SPORTS No. 5 ranked STFX X-Women extended their winning streak to three with a 4-0 win over the Dalhousie Tigers on Wednesday evening at the Keating Centre.

STFX forward Maggy Burbidge (Falmouth, NS) added to her U SPORTS leading point tally, picking up three assists and a goal on the night and earning Subway player of the game honours.

Linemate Chloe Vukosa (Mississauga, ON) opened the scoring with her ninth goal of the year off a one-timer less than three minutes into the game, with Burbidge and Lea MacLeod (Dartmouth, NS) assisting.

STFX carried the majority of play, out shooting the visitors 24-7 in the first 20 minutes, but weren't able to extend their lead before heading to the dressing room.

Dalhousie kept things even early in the second stanza, and looked to capitalize on an extended powerplay with about five minutes gone, but the X penalty kill came though and kept the Tigers off the board.

After exchanging chances, the X-Women added to their lead, with MacLeod this time finding the back of the net on the powerplay, with Burbidge and Vivian Hinch (Vancouver, BC) assisting with under two minutes to play in the period.

Shots at the end of the period were 27-18 in favour of the X-Women.

Vukosa, who was named third star of the game, added her second of the night with about four-and-a-half minutes gone in the third period, with Lauren Dabrowski (Tiny, ON) and Burbidge adding helpers.

The X Women continued to pepper Tigers' goalie Grace Beer (Oakville, ON) with shots and hit pay dirt yet again late in the period, with Burbidge tipping in a shot from Dabrowski on the powerplay.

Final shots in the game were 51-24 in favour of the X Women.

Amaya Giraudier (Assiniboia, SK) stood tall in the X net, making 24 saves, picking up the shutout and her seventh win of the season. Beer had 47 saves for the Tigers and earned second star of the night

The X Women will be back in AUS action when they host UPEI on Saturday night at the Keating Centre. The Tigers host Saint Mary's Huskies on Friday night in Halifax.
