CHARLOTTETOWN - The Acadia Axemen dominated UPEI offensively in their opening game of the AUS season on Friday night, with a final score of 5-1. The first period set the tone for Acadia's success, with four goals scored by Corson Hopwo, Brendan Sellan, Cole Nagy, and Cam MacDonald. UPEI managed to score one goal in the second period, but Acadia quickly responded with another goal by Brendan Mairs.
Acadia's players had a strong showing, with Cole Nagy contributing two assists and a goal, and Brendan Mairs adding a goal and an assist. Goalie Thomas Couture also put on an impressive performance, making 26 saves on 27 shots.
